Little Fox, Inc.Associate Editor
Aug. 2007 - Apr. 2009I was an associate editor and producer with Little Fox, Inc., a new media company based in Korea that teaches English to Korean children via animated stories, both fiction and nonfiction. My core job responsibilities included supervising writers working on multiple writing projects, and the management, coordination, and editorial development of all texts for publication, both online and print. My job also included researching images, creating storyboards for the animators, producing studio sessions of voiceover artists and character actors, and working collaboratively with all departments to ensure the timely publication of web content. Specifically, I managed freelance writers, copy editors, and proofreaders for different types of projects (fiction and nonfiction for all reading levels), and shepherded the editorial process, resolving differences regarding structure, form, vocabulary, and grammar. I kept freelance writers, copyeditors, and proofreaders up to date on scheduling to ensure that our content met production deadlines and conformed to editorial style, consistency, and accuracy standards. After the text had gone through the editorial process and the audio narration was complete, I coordinated and/or wrote music that accompanied the finished production. As a writer, I adapted the classic book Wind in the Willows into a 100-episode animated series for 2nd grade readers and Treasure Island into a 32-episode animated series for 5th graders.
