University of PortsmouthResearch Internship
Jun. 2015 - Sep. 2015Portsmouth, United KingdomDuring my internship, I played a critical role in developing a state-of-the-art Weather Station, equipped with a wireless interface that provides users with real-time access to acquired measurements. This cutting-edge Weather Station was engineered to wirelessly upload collected data to an online server, contributing to a global repository of meteorological data from stations across the world. The core of the system utilizes a GSM/GPRS interface to communicate with a mobile device, which acts as the primary receiver for various sensor measurements. These measurements encompass a wide array of meteorological data points, including temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, rain intensity, as well as wind speed and direction. This hands-on experience allowed me to delve into the intersection of telecommunications and meteorology, bolstering my expertise in both hardware and software aspects of weather station technology. Through this project, I refined my problem-solving capabilities, honed my technical skills, and fostered a meticulous approach towards data accuracy and quality.
