I was an elected representative of circa 28,000 students, led a team of 6 other elected officers and provided the political steer for the organisation. During my tenure I successfully lobbied for £3.4m of capital investment into the Students' Union building, led a campaign to encourage more women to run in our elections (with an increase of 10% on the previous year) and championed a shift in the organisation's culture (from that of a sports and social club to a representative, campaigning body) which is reflected in the new three year strategy.
