In this context, the Smart Metropolis Project, conducted in the Metropole Digital Institute (IMD) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in Natal-RN, Brazil, seeks for playing an important role in the deployment of human and smart cities, bringing together researchers and practitioners with both theoretical and practical expertise in fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, and Social Sciences. As a concrete result, the Project envisions conceiving and developing methods, techniques, and tools to support the development and deployment of applications of integrated services to be offered by smart cities.
