Unlike a traditional CTO, who focuses on the overall technology infrastructure and strategy for a company, a Marketing CTO is specifically concerned with leveraging technology to enhance marketing efforts. In my case, having a background in technology and business (starting as a software developer and then leading teams of 200 colleagues, being responsible for building various teams, delivering high quality software and managing budgets) and spicing it up with expertise in sales and marketing makes my role at the intersection of these worlds. Being so, one of the key aspects of the role is “Cross-Functional Collaboration” between different business lines, departments and bringing value closer from one to another.
