Feb. 2012 - Oct. 2013Getzville, New York• Counsel current and potential students in regards to best financial aid practices including, but not limited to, default, high loan debt, past financial aid history, federal Pell regulations, state TAP regulations, forbearance, and deferment
• Work collaboratively with the admissions and academic center teams to enroll and retain students and ensure they have a successful career at the institution
• Package, award, create, and track students’ aid, utilizing federal and institutional methodology
• Assist students through the entire financial aid process including completing a FAFSA, electronic TAP application, completing the verification and correction process, completing the Master Promissory Note and Entrance and Exit Counseling, collecting necessary data for the verification process, and understanding the award letter
• Track student attendance during the first 5 weeks of classes for the purpose of proper federal and state aid disbursal
• Make presentations to students at New Student Orientation, during First Year Experience Classes, and during Internship seminars
•Supervise federal work study students
