Jun. 2017 - Mar. 2018Shawnee, OklahomaWhile in this role, I served as Production Supervisor for the Electronics Department and as the Preventive Maintenance Administrator. I had the opportunity to be responsible for overseeing production for a $13 million business. I employed my background in Lean manufacturing and several waste elimination strategies to maximize productivity and increase profitability. I also led projects to improve production quality and capacity.
During this time, I managed numerous initiatives including safety and code compliance, OSHA, supervision, scheduling, deadline management, and vendor communication. As a part of the management team, I also provided guidance and feedback to staff.
Key achievements from this tenure include:
⇨ I relied heavily on Kaizen, Kanban, and other lean manufacturing tools to implement change for the business. As a result, I reduced repair lead times by 83%, increased new product throughput by 60%, and increased workflow efficiency by 35%. I also corrected an inventory error using Kanban that resulted in cost savings of $70K in one year.
⇨ I leveraged a design thinking approach to strengthen relationships with customers, which improved customer service tremendously and reduced customer complaints.
⇨ I also developed new KPIs to capture production analyses, lead times, attendance, inventory costs, and regional, weather-based service trends, which strengthened the management team’s decision-making capability.
