Nov. 2024Austin, Texas Metropolitan AreaThe CDBG Planning Project Manager works within the Community Block Development Grant Office in the Supportive Housing Division to interact with the public, other local governments, service providers and elected officials to create a community centered program that meets the needs of the low-to-moderate income population in unincorporated Travis County, outside the City of Austin. It performs highly advanced planning, manages multiple high-level projects, complex projects requiring multi-diciplinary county and/or consultant-staffed teams to complete and may serve as the county spokesperson for project planning area of expertise. The PPM scopes work, defines deliverables, develops work methods and tasks, sets schedules, monitors progress, and re-scopes projects as required by changing resources and needs. I may also organize and lead citizen work groups and facilitate public engagement. This position represents the most senior planner with expertise in CDBG, representing the department in Commissioners Court proceedings and the County in public forums. It leads staff on project work and initiates policy, working with senior management for adoption and implementation. I will also enjoy the responsibility of planning and developing large programs and facilitating their approval. Most importantly, I will have the opportunity to improve the lives of the RESIDENTS of Travis County and those that visit for years to come through housing, infrastructure, assistance to special populations, etc. Let's make the most of our CDBG funds!
