Apr. 2012 - Aug. 2015Norman, OklahomaI oversee the management of athletic events and third-party utilization of athletic facilities. In this role, I support as many as 300 events per year, including football, basketball, track, and 17 other varsity sports, plus concerts, tournaments, championship games, and special events, with attendance reaching 85,000 for major events. I manage custodial, ticketing, guest services, grounds, and contracted security for all events. I serve as the primary point of contact to University personnel, visiting teams, and outside parties. My supervisory responsibilities encompass event day personnel, including as many as 600 staff and volunteers. In addition, I arrange lodging for visiting teams, VIPs, and entertainers, and work with teams and customers to coordinate audio-visual, meeting space, catering, and logistical support. I have administered security budgets up to $1M and I also handle operational and staffing budgets. After being promoted from Event Operations Assistant to Assistant Director of Event Management & Facilities in 2012, I took on the role of Associate Director in 2014. Over the past three years I have facilitated $200,000 in annual revenues through facilities rentals, improved efficiency by developing or updating operations manuals and event policies/procedures. I served as the Lead Event Manager for Women's Basketball, Women's Gymnastics, Men's Gymnastics, Track, and Women's Softball, and I have earned recognition on multiple occasions from local business and campus fraternities for outstanding services. I have also supported green initiatives by developing special policies and practices focusing on environmental sustainability, and I am currently implementing an incentive program for contractor employees to improve customer service.
