Assistant to CuratorAssistant
Jan. 2003 - Dec. 2007Worked closely with curator and collector Larry List to support the development of concept-driven exhibitions at the intersection of art, intellect, and cultural narrative—most notably his celebrated chess-themed shows.
Conducted in-depth research on featured artists, drawing from archival, library, and visual resources to help shape curatorial direction and deepen the interpretive framework of exhibitions. Maintained and thoughtfully organized an extensive collection of books, media, and reference materials, transforming them into accessible tools for creative and scholarly exploration.
Led the cataloging and digitization of artworks, ensuring each piece was documented with care and precision—preserving both its material presence and its contextual story. Managed research and exhibition inventories as living systems, supporting the fluid movement from concept to installation.
Contributed to the creation of a bestselling publication aligned with Mr. List’s curatorial vision, helping translate the intellectual and visual language of his chess exhibitions into a cohesive and widely resonant work.
This role allowed me to engage deeply with the curatorial process—where research becomes narrative, archives become living memory, and exhibitions emerge as immersive cultural dialogue.
