Nov. 2021 - Apr. 2022Isle of ManAs the Creative Lead for 221 Media's IPTV platform, GO TV, I played a pivotal role in developing a diverse range of original content, encompassing true crime, reality, and children's drama. My responsibilities spanned the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept to final delivery. I led the ideation and development of series outlines, ensuring they aligned with the platform's vision and audience interests. Key aspects of my role included managing budgets and story adaptation licensing, strategically partnering with existing brands and intellectual properties, and formulating comprehensive streaming plans. Additionally, I was instrumental in content acquisition, negotiating and buying content that would resonate with our viewers. A significant part of my role involved tendering for public and private production contracts. Jun. 2021 - Oct. 2021On-siteAt 3FM, the Isle of Man's premier commercial social media channel, I frequently produced the island's most-watched commercial video content during the challenging times of the pandemic. My role was critical in maintaining high engagement with our 50,000+ social media followers, through the consistent production of four client-based videos per week. I produced various digital media projects varying from presenter-fronted content and live streams to multi-cam game shows, talking heads interviews, scripted commercials, 2D animation, and full-motion graphics. This diversity in content types not only showcased my versatility in handling different formats but also catered to the varied tastes of our audience. To enhance production value while being cost-effective, I introduced a subscription-based stock licensing model. This strategic move significantly reduced long-term expenses without compromising the quality of our content. Additionally, I implemented automated closed captioning, which drastically increased efficiency by saving approximately seven hours per week for each member of the video team. I was responsible for managing individual client budgets, and ensuring cost-effectiveness by strategically distributing production internationally where feasible. My role also involved close coordination with the Sales department to develop customized sales models that were in sync with our marketing strategy. This fostered a collaborative environment that effectively bridged the gap between sales and programming teams, accommodating a diverse range of client needs.

May. 2018 - Jun. 2019Isle of Man, United KingdomAt Isle of Media, a key agency for the development of the Isle of Man's media, film, and television sectors, I took on the challenge of elevating the Isle's presence in the international media industry. Understanding the significance of effective marketing and the power of existing resources, I proposed and successfully implemented the innovative idea of repurposing the Isle of Man's extensive film production catalogue into B2B promotional content. This strategic approach involved transforming existing film assets into engaging promotional materials, showcasing the Isle's capabilities, and highlighting its appeal as a serious player in the global media landscape. By leveraging the existing catalogue, we were able to create compelling narratives that demonstrated the Isle of Man's production strengths and diverse offerings. Furthering our promotional efforts, I produced witty and attention-grabbing video promos specifically designed to capture the interest of key players in the industry. These promos were showcased at major industry conferences like MIPCOM & MIPTV in Cannes, pivotal platforms for international exposure. The aim was to not only grab attention but also leave a lasting impression on industry professionals, thus opening doors for future collaborations and investments in the Isle of Man's media sector.

Each day, I reviewed rushes to refine the production schedule and maintain narrative coherence. In post-production, I created a beat sheet to guide editing, organized additional filming for narrative gaps, and ensured the integration of these pick-ups with existing footage. My role was instrumental in every stage of the production, from funding to filming. Initially, I successfully raised £18,000 in funding for this big-budget project. This involved securing £10,000 from the Manx Culture Board for choosing to shoot the film in period-accurate Gaelic with English subtitles. The board's support extended beyond financial backing, as they also distributed the short film. Furthermore, I negotiated with the Isle of Man Film Commission and their investment partner, CinemaNX, obtaining an additional £8,000 in funding. This agreement included the transfer of commercial remake rights to the investors. A key aspect of production involved liaising with Manx National Heritage to gain access to historically significant locations without incurring location fees. These included Britain's best-preserved Medieval Castle, a thatched village in a folk-life museum, and a private beach on the Niarbyl Fault.
