Duke Energy is a Fortune 125 company based in Charlotte, NC, and one of the largest investor owned energy utilities in the United States serving customers in the 6 states through Nuclear, Hydro-Electric, Natural Gas, Coal, and renewable sources. Emergency Management:
o Support integration, coordination, and implementation of emergency management programs across the diverse business units of the full Duke Energy Enterprise in an effort to create an Emergency Planners Coalition to more effectively plan, train, exercise, respond, and recover as an organization
o Work with business unit emergency management contacts to provide guidance, establish strategies, and strengthen capabilities through exercising or best practice sharing
o Coordinate development and implementation of Incident Command System resources and capabilities
o Develop and coordinate the EM program 5-year Strategic Planning process
o Implement project management, task tracking, resource allocation, and time management programs within EM
o Administer the WebEOC, Mass Notification, and GETS card programs. Exercise Education and Coordination:
o Develop and deliver an exercise workshop to train corporate business contacts on the basics of exercise planning and execution using a self-paced virtual didactic course and an activity-based in-person course to more help participants more efficiently operationalize the HSEEP-based content
o Develop and facilitate trainings and exercises for the Incident Support Team (Corporate Emergency Operations Center) and Crisis Management Team (Senior Management Committee strategic business operations)
o Participate in business unit exercise planning and execution as needed
o Encourage business units to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for more efficient and effective exercises
