May. 2020 - Feb. 2022parisDesign and Implementation of the Technical Foundation for the Industrialization of EUROPCAR’s Migration to AWS and GCP I was responsible for designing and setting up the technical foundation that enabled the industrialization of EUROPCAR’s migration to AWS and GCP. Within the architecture team, I wore the hats of both architect and DEVOPS integrator. The goal of my intervention was to create reusable technical building blocks to scale during the migration, while adhering to the predefined budgetary objectives. The migration foundation developed for Europcar includes the following components: * Creation of a reusable Terraform infrastructure catalog (12 Terraform stacks)
* Design and implementation of Europcar’s Gitlab deployment standards
* Implementation and maintenance of 8 Terraform environments based on the same infrastructure catalog
* Development from scratch of a multi-cloud image factory for AZURE, GCP, and AWS (using Ansible, Packer, and Gitlab)
* Design of Kubernetes deployment standards with ArgoCD
* Integration and setup of ArgoCD for Kubernetes deployments
* Audit of GKE and EKS clusters
* Operation of applications deployed in Kubernetes clusters
* Design and implementation of EKS cluster deployments
* Design and setup of a generic pipeline used by all projects eligible for AWS
* Design and implementation of pipeline validation procedures
* Facilitation of code reviews
* Support for operational teams in the RUN phase

Cette normalisation m’a permis de fluidifier les échanges avec les intervenants du projet. Cette approche m’a aussi permise de concevoir un catalogue de commande ayant pour but de rendre chacune des équipe autonome. La proposition retenue a été d’implémenter un PAAS sous docker orchestré par docker-compose. Les taches d’administration se sont ainsi considérablement réduites. La réutilisation des images docker notamment, ont permis a l’équipe d’exploitation de réduire le temps de mise en place des data centers. En effet les images builder a en France étaient déployés et contextualisés en fonction du pays avec Ansible. Cette solution a permis de consolider le nombre de serveur de 250 a 10 serveurs.
