EverlaneSenior Software Engineer
Jul. 2013San Francisco Bay Area- Created Everlane's POS from scratch using React, React Native, Swift, and the Square API
- Moved the Everlane front end stack from Backbone/JQuery to React and NextJS
- Created Everlane's Ruby on Rails API layer.
- Built an engineering team from a group of four rag-tag engineers and one designer, learning on the job, to the incredible group of 18 engineers, 4 designers, and 4 Product managers.
- Built, maintained, and matured a team environment based on low ego, curiosity, and compassion.
- Discovered, advocated for, and built the prototype for Everlane’s CMS vendor, Builder.io - After spending over a year building a custom CMS and site merchandising tool, including a WYSIWYG homepage and banner editor (modeled after Builder), a product listing page creation and editing tool, and a product asset management system; I had plenty of incentive to advocate for Builder when custom tools became too ineffective and engineering intensive.
- Took ownership over the asset management tools and API integration, leading to an eventual 32% decrease in page load time and 4% increase in sales.
- Built a Slack integration to help facilitate cross-company conversations and pairing sessions.
- Focus on learning from and about my peers and helping approach difficult topics and creat solutions. - Ran initial user tests on product reviews, compiled user feedback on the feature, helped put together the initial project specifications, and helped integrate with Everlane’s eventual product review vendor, Bazaarvoice.
- Assisted with the full scale email platform integration with Sailthru and took ownership over the tool before Everlane had a dedicated email marketing team
- Assisted with every holiday marketing campaign, in various capacities, since I joined in 2013
- Increased Everlane’s SEO indexable page footprint by 300% by creating SEO and user friendly URLs for filtered product listing pages.
