May. 2019 - Mar. 2023Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, BrasilSince KingHost's acquisition by Locaweb, I drove the strategic and operational growth of KingHost. My main focus was to exceed all annual goals - with results that consistently exceeded expectations! Additionally, our efforts focused on reinforcing the company culture around our values, including but not limited to trust, commitment, simplicity, excellence, integrity, and gratitude. Recently, we took those up a notch through initiatives designed to take team agility capabilities further still. As a subsidiary of a publicly-held company, I was committed to complying with Locaweb's compliance and governance, as well as ensuring market deliveries related to KingHost's operation. Even after the Covid-19 restrictions, our eNPS, GPTW score, and culture continued to grow and strengthen, indicating that our training actions in culture, leadership (KingLeader), and agility were effective and successful.

Apr. 2006 - Mar. 2014Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, BrasilAs the Technical Operations Manager (and CEO, and CMO), my priority was to upgrade and improve our company's administration system. This included enhancing billing processes, payments systems and back office operations - all using Perl + PHP with Mysql databases for high availability (HA). I also tailored the self-monitoring Sinapse platform (Perl+PHP) so it could detect and instantly protect against any DDoS attack by leveraging BGP rulesets as well as stateless firewall scripts. An internal messaging service was created in house in order to maintain control over a vast network of 3000 servers. One of the main goals was the creation of a control panel for customers to manage their websites, a counterpoint to other competitors in the market, which use third-party solutions (like cPanel/Plesk), which bring an added cost to their operations. Our panel, initially created by me, has been improved over the years by other employees. With the introduction of open source software Asterisk since 2007, I implemented digitalization of our phone system. This allowed us to reduce costs on 0800 and mobile calls while having unlimited extensions in order support additional growth - also an extremely helpful advantage during a pandemic where remote work was essential! In only 3 days after this decision, all staff were able to connect via VPN with ease for continued productivity from home.

Apr. 2006 - Oct. 2011Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, BrasilWhen I first started KingHost (2006), I was almost alone in leadership. It seemed like an impossible task to make the business successful with just me at the helm. Despite this, I was determined to make it work and set out on a journey of learning and experimentation. My initial focus was on growth marketing strategies such as email marketing, adwords campaigns, and a lot of SEO optimization. If it counts, there were also some innovations here, such as the printing at home of thousands of pamphlets and envelopes sent by mail to registered domain owners in Brazil (in addition to the development of the system for data collection), as well as the sending of pamphlets by FAX for corporate customers. Through hard work and dedication (and some luck!), these strategies paid off—our growth increased by three digits within our first few years! Plus, we were able to gain invaluable insights into how different strategies could be used to better understand our customers’ preferences and behaviors. But success didn't come without its share of challenges along the way: there were times when things weren't going according to plan or when mistakes had been made that cost us precious time or resources. But through it all, I never gave up hope—instead turning each obstacle into an opportunity for improvement. It's been a long road since then but KingHost is now stronger than ever before thanks to the lessons learned during those early days of uncertainty and risk-taking!

Sep. 2002 - Apr. 2006Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, BrasilAfter establishing the successful HostSul web hosting service in 2002, I launched several other digital offerings over the course of four years. Sadly, all five have been discontinued due to several reasons: GigaFree (free dial-up internet service), GigaBusca (search engine), GigaFoto (fotolog) and GigaColor (photo printing service). In 2006, HostSul customers and trademark were sold to BigHost, another hosting service at the time. My company remained with the workers (the knowledge) and servers.

Oct. 2000 - Aug. 2002Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, BrasilIn 2000, I co-founded a webhosting and domain services company. Over two year's time we managed to grow from nothing into 60k BRL in MRR! To support this growth, I developed an advanced administration system guide using the Perl language with TXT/MySQL databases. Additionally, my project "Sinapse" was created as a self monitoring server operating under the same language which helped boost customer service capabilities significantly before selling out of my shares by August 2002 for corporate restructuring purposes.

This would prove to be not only an innovative learning experience but also our very first M&A followed by an exciting exit!
