Human Resources Specialist, Part-time, November 2013 to March 2014 In these roles, I partnered with the Program Manager and Executive Director (ED), and led three HR staff in two locations, to manage daily business operations and design/execute performance management and improvement systems. I administered all facets of employee benefits and compensation, employee separations and grievances, and personnel policy updates and handbooks, and collaborated with the ED on developing and implementing policies and procedures for employment, wage and salary administration, fringe benefit administration, insurance, and health benefits. I also introduced HR best practices to assist in the creation of a high-performance culture, and interpreted regulations and application of human resource policies and procedures for employees, explaining them incomprehensible language. Finally, I led recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new employees, including compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and company polices, and served as the Secretary of the Board of Directors HR Committee. My key contributions included: - Designed and implemented a staff development training program that was later adopted by the CA Department of Rehabilitation and state-wide Independent Living Centers.
- Handled all documentation for employee safety (Cal-OSHA), welfare, wellness, and health programs. - Administered Leaves of Absences, PDL, Worker’s Compensation, ADA Disability Accommodation, Jury and Witness, and Personal LOA.
