Sep. 1979 - Jun. 2004Dublin, Johannesburg and LondonI was fortunate to work across the globe and to collaborate with and learn from many talented people, from different cultures. Early in my career, I led extensive and complex corporate turnarounds and change programmes; and this experience enabled me to acquire advanced skills in managing audit, corporate strategy, corporate restructuring, insolvency, debt restructuring, and corporate litigation activities. I became a partner in 1992. During this time, I established and developed new services and income streams for PwC. My partnership roles included 1) PwC EMEA BPO Leader for Financial Services Industry (based in London 2000-2002); 2) PwC Southern Africa Leader for Financial Services Industry – Audit, Tax, Advisory and Corporate Finance for South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe (based in Johannesburg 1996 - 2000); 3) PwC Ireland Leader for Risk Advisory Services and BPO (based in Dublin 2002-2004), 4) PwC Ireland Insurance and Banking Partner (1992-96), 5) PwC Ireland Public Sector Practice Leader (1990-96); Key to success was leading and motivating large dispersed teams to deliver their best in often challenging circumstances while managing relationships with a demanding and fast-growing portfolio of clients.
