Staff Accountant

This is a start up non-profit I am starting in honor of my daughter who was a homicide victim. Her name was Chloe Madison Robinson 03/27/2008-08/26/2010. This non-profit will benefit children and victims of domestic violence.

Owner

***Complete bookkeeping for a variety of clients including bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll set up and filing, new employee reporting, setting up new company files in QuickBooks, clean-up of existing company files and maintain correct books. ***Complete books catch up from multiple years. ***Monthly maintenance of accounting, monthly filing of sales tax and payroll and year-end tax returns. ***Audited month end inventory reports and performed in-depth analysis of same. ***Analyzed and reconciled accounts and made adjustments and entries. ***Wrote month end journals for inter-company accounts, gain loss on foreign exchange, late A/P and other journals as required. ***Clients included multi-location restaurants, janitorial services with certified payroll, hair salons, real estate investors with rental properties, apartment complexes, attorneys’ offices and various other small companies. Clients ranged from small mom and pop companies to a multimillion dollar company with multiple companies under their umbrella for Ron Sturgeon and many military side companies and firearms dealers.

Ensured proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function. Ensured timeliness, accuracy and usefulness of financial and management reporting to partners. Coordinated audits and made sure the proper filing of tax returns is handled in a timely manner. Conducted cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed. Oversaw cash, investment and asset management. Oversaw financial strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships. Provided daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly financials for the partners. Started up new entities with the Secretary of State and IRS for additional business ventures of the partners. Created and maintained Human Resources files for over 80+ employees. Interviewed, checked references, hired and fired employees. Handled all employee issues with management and staff. Handled employee discipline and write ups. Maintained and processed payroll for 80+ employees as well as benefit deductions and bonuses. Administered benefits such as health, dental, LTD and 401K plan.

Chief Financial Officer and Director of Human Resources

Prepare financial reports including forecasting for budgets and income versus expenses projections. Implement ideas to cut overhead. In charge of the Associations IT needs, including researching new computer systems and troubleshooting computer issues. Sat on the Board of Directors as the Treasurer to include full control of the companies’ financials as a Non-profit organization. Prepared quarterly financial reports that captured all MPRA transactions which include revenue and fees generated from retail operations, membership applications, private donations, the three MPRA legacy programs (the MPRA Walkway, the MPRA Benevolent Fund and the MPRA Scholarship Fund) as well as the annual MPRA Technical Exhibit.Report directly to the Executive Director of this Non-profit Association. Design, implement and maintain online gift shop. Redesign of website. Created HTML monthly newsletters that go out to every member, 5,000 and growing. Was a liaison with printers, advertisers, editorial staff, corporate sponsors, vendors and the design team to coordinate and produce hard copy and web based publications including quarterly magazine.

Multi-Media Production Sales and Marketing Coordinator & Board Treasurer

Reported directly to both Managing Partners of this International Law Firm. In-charge of all aspects of Accounting for the entire firm including quarterly and yearly taxes, A/R, A/P, collections, reconciling multiple bank accounts as well as IOLTA accounts, created detailed reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly detailing expense analysis, computed year end taxes as well as quarterly estimated tax payments, calculated NY taxes for both partners. Also responsible for preparing bills for approximately 100 clients each month and entering time for over 15 attorneys. Supervised other 6 people in the Dallas office. Responsible for communicating with our Japanese clients regarding their bills and payment. Prepared payroll for Dallas, New York and Tokyo offices. Also, kept bar associations current and obtained EIN numbers’ for clients with the IRS.
