Actually, most of the time I had to avoid people because there were so many requests. But since I\u2019m a generally active and outgoing person, I always liked meeting someone new and getting introduced to new experiences. So, after we decided to move the company overseas \u2013 the first thing I did in the United States was to go to Burning Man.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Principles of Burning Man\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides being one of the world\u2019s most famous event, Burning man is also a community based on 10 main principles:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Radical Inclusion \u2013 anyone can become a part of the community and of any activity included;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gifting \u2013 the community appreciates when anyone can give an unconditional gift to another;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Decommodification \u2013 the community is free of any commercial sponsorships or transactions;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Radical Self-reliance \u2013 everyone in the community relies on their inner resources;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Radical Self-expression \u2013 anyone can be themselves without limitations;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Communal Effort \u2013 the community values are creative cooperation and collaboration.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Civic Responsibility \u2013 every activity performed at the event should be done with the respect to the community;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leaving No Trace \u2013 the community of Burning Man respects the environment, leaving it in a better state than were found;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participation \u2013 the community is committed to a radically participatory ethic.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Immediacy \u2013 eve<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ryone in the community is devoted to having an immediate experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"intch-frame-shortcode\"><div class=\"intch-banner style-s1\">\n                <div class=\"intch-banner__inner\">\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/intch.org\/blog\/wp-content\/themes\/gridlove-child\/assets\/img\/phone.png\">\n                    <span>Intch App \u2013 Your Chief Networking Officer<\/span>\n                    <a href=\"https:\/\/intch.org\/onboarding\/flow-type?utm_source=blog&utm_campaign=reg\" class=\"btn btn-white\">Try it<\/a>\n                <\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following these common principles makes hundreds of thousands people all over the world a community. While everyone comes to Burning Man to have fun and make memories, <strong>it is also a place that allows to establish meaningful connections fast because at the event you can solve complex problems together<\/strong>. After Burning Man I was left with several hundred contacts of various people from the globe \u2013 and with some of them we kept in touch and started founding new communities at home. After a while I realized how diverse the crowd was \u2013 and how useful these contacts might become in the future.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Starting over with a great network<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year after months of research the Subty team decided to step into a new market \u2013 and the team (and myself) moved to the States. And the first people to help us in the new country were the people that I met at the Burning Man community.\u00a0 They were the first to help with everything \u2013 from contacts of their friends for renting an apartment, to vendors who helped us start a business. I got in touch with over 40 people from my contact list at Burning Man \u2013 and over 20 of them are interested in Subty as new investors.
